About This Role

Supervise daily operations of a summer Day Camp Program, serving as a liaison between counselors, leadership staff, and parents. This role involves developing weekly camp schedules and providing on-site leadership.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising the daily operations of the summer Day Camp Program
Serve as a liaison between Day Camp Counselors and leadership staff
Communicate with participant's parents
Assist in developing weekly day camp schedules including activities, crafts, and field trips
Provide on-site leadership to day camp counselors and participants
Assist Recreation Specialist in training Day Camp Staff
Purchase, inventory, and maintain all supplies for Day Camp
Identify safety issues and maintain positive behavior plan for all day campers
Supervise children and facilitate activities
Ensure all equipment is set up and activity area is safe

Requirements

High School Diploma
At least 1-3 years of experience working with children
Knowledge of appropriate programming and activities for youth
Knowledge of standard safety practices
Ability to effectively communicate with parents and staff
Ability to direct the daily operations of the program for the staff
Ability to follow City Government rules and regulations
Ability to keep records and complete all necessary paperwork
Ability to work in a team environment
Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required, minimum of Associate's Degree in education or child care is preferred
At least 1-3 years of experience working with children (past teaching/coaching experience ideal)
