Data Solutions Analyst

About This Role

The Data Solutions Analyst is responsible for designing and delivering analytics solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, focusing on creating interactive Power BI dashboards. This role involves translating complex data into visual stories and automated workflows to support client engagement and firm strategy at a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and analytics solutions that translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Build integrated Power Platform solutions (Power Automate workflows, Power Apps applications, Power Query data transformations) to streamline processes and enhance user experience.
• Write and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) using existing tables and schemas to support reporting, data validation, modeling, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with business development teams, attorneys, and leadership to gather requirements, understand analytical needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
• Develop and maintain automated data pipelines connecting internal systems and external data sources, including federal and state agencies, legal databases, and third-party vendors.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders, serving as product owner for analytics deliverables and continuously refining dashboards and workflows based on user feedback.
• Work cross-functionally with the Data Solutions team and other technical teams on data integration, quality assurance, problem resolution, and implementing data-driven operational solutions.
• Leverage available artificial intelligence resources to enhance work product and internal processes.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, creativity, and advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain the confidentiality of firm data, as appropriate.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps
• Advanced Power BI expertise including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, report design, and dashboard UX principles
• Exceptional ability to communicate data insights to non-technical audiences
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
• SQL proficiency for data extraction and manipulation
• Robust data analytics skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position's duties
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working in law firms, professional services firms, consultant agencies, research organizations, or journalism.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Foundation, DealCloud (or other CRM system), Aderant, Vuture/Marigold, and federal/state agency data sources
• Experience with other data visualization and data management platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Azure Data Studio)
• Python experience (pandas, requests, beautifulsoup, selenium)
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and facilitating data-driven discussions
• Experience with APIs, JSON, and web-based data sources
