Data Migration Engineer

About This Role

This role involves designing and executing complex data migrations, building automation frameworks, and ensuring full data integrity across requirements management platforms for a regulated technology-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate existing baseline migration scripts and automation tools
• Determine whether to enhance the current codebase or develop a new migration framework
• Develop automation for data extraction, transformation, and ingestion
• Integrate with Jama Connect REST APIs and target system APIs to migrate complex datasets
• Migrate rich text, tables, file attachments, and structured requirement data
• Replicate complex parent-child hierarchies and maintain traceability relationships
• Manage end-to-end ETL processes including data preparation, transformation, and loading
• Execute dry-run migrations and produce automated validation and parity reports
• Document and execute detailed migration runbooks, including cutover and go-live planning

Requirements

• Hands-on experience migrating data from Jama Connect or similar requirements management tools
• Strong experience with REST APIs and API-based data integration
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages used for automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Experience building ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Experience migrating hierarchical data models and maintaining traceability links
• Experience validating large-scale data migrations for completeness and integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Experience migrating data between ALM, PLM, or requirements management platforms
• Familiarity with test management and requirement-to-test traceability models
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Exposure to data validation reporting or reconciliation tooling
