DAS Technician

About This Role

Install, test, and maintain Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) in the South Florida region, following CTS standards and focusing on quality and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction of Field Manager/Project Manager
• Lead and direct Technicians and Apprentices in all aspects of DAS installation
• Manage daily installation quality and schedule
• Transport materials
• Conduct site walks for small venues and retail stores
• Document site walks for future bidding
• Pull both Coax and Fiber cables
• Perform Coax Cable Termination
• Proficiently perform PIM & Sweep Testing of both Coax & Fiber
• Operate and understand functions of Anritsu Site Master and other test equipment
• Read IBW Design documentation and understand different installation components
• Perform Fusion splicing and fiber optic testing
• Collect data / pictures for closeout package
• Manage timesheets of team as needed

Requirements

• Ability to follow direction
• Ability to make good decisions when unsupervised
• Valid Driver’s License
• Physical ability to carry tools, materials & ladders, climb ladders, lift up to 50lb

Qualifications

• Open to entry-level candidates, some DAS experience preferred for Technician II/III

Nice to Have

• 2 to 5 years in the industry or equivalent experience as DAS Technician I
• Some DAS experience for Technician II/III
• Expert at Coax Cable Termination
• Proficient with PIM & Sweep Testing of both Coax & Fiber
• Competent at operation and understanding of all functions of Anritsu Site Master, test equipment
• Basic Understanding of frequency band, protocols and terminology
• Good level of building code knowledge
• Competent with Fusion splicing and fiber optic testing
