DAS Technician

About This Role

This role supports the installation of various telecommunication systems, focusing on Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Small Cell networks. It involves learning industry standards and processes for system construction and testing to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow the direction of the Field Manager/Lead Tech
• String coax and fiber cable as part of the install team
• Install Antennas and Equipment as directed
• Transport materials
• Attend Apprentice Classes (where applicable)
• Collect information for closeout package
• Manage daily installation quality and schedule
• Accept direction and make good decisions when working unsupervised

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Physical ability to carry tools, materials, and ladders
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to lift up to 50lb as-needed
• Ability to perform daily required tasks
• Competent at pulling both Coax and Fiber
• Proficient at Coax Cable Termination
• Basic computer skills
• Basic understanding of cable sweep test equipment and processes
• Understand frequency band, Protocols and terminology

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry-level candidates accepted, with on-the-job training provided.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Fusion splicing and fiber optic testing practices
• Proficient with PIM & Sweep Testing of both Coax & Fiber
• Competent at operation and understanding of all functions of Anritsu Site Master test equipment
