Custom Applicator - Agriculture

About This Role

This role is responsible for the precise application of dry fertilizers and pesticides to customer fields, along with the operation and maintenance of application equipment. The Custom Applicator will also perform off-season duties such as equipment maintenance, soil sampling, and making sales calls to customers.

Responsibilities

• Recommends and applies pesticides and fertilizers by driving and operating various vehicles and equipment
• Maintains accurate log books on applicated acres
• Performs maintenance and calibration on application equipment
• Follows up on weed control in sprayed areas
• Participates in continuing education for maintaining pesticide applicator license
• Attends applicator equipment workshops
• Performs maintenance on other equipment and fixed facilities
• Pulls soil samples
• Mixes dry and liquid fertilizer
• Picks up and delivers farm chemicals, fertilizer and seed
• Makes sales calls to customers
• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in operating large equipment
• CDL
• Pesticide license
• Mechanically inclined
• Basic knowledge of ag pesticides and weed identification
• Excellent driving record
• Ability to accurately read field maps
• Ability to pass a CDL physical examination
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to read, write and speak in English
• Valid U.S. driver's license

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in operating large equipment is required
