Perform a variety of tasks involving the custodial care of Marion County buildings, maintaining cleanliness and security on a temporary, on-call basis.
Responsibilities
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling on multiple floors
- Remove surface dirt and dust from horizontal surfaces at various heights
- Clean and disinfect restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, and walls
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum multiple floors and use carpet cleaners
- Clean windows, mirrors, glass, walls, doors, and light switch plates
- Prepare chemicals using basic math skills to compute dilution ratios
- Maintain building security and a clean, organized custodial closet
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste appropriately
- Respond to customer requests for debris removal and spill cleanups
- Check and respond to emails daily, complete daily and monthly work orders
- Order and put away custodial supplies
- Report any needed maintenance repairs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
- Good physical condition, strength, and agility to perform manual tasks
- Ability to work cooperatively and alone
- Ability to work evenings
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school, or equivalent
- Some experience with janitorial techniques

- Some experience with janitorial techniques
