Effectively utilize CT scanners to capture diagnostic images of patients as ordered by physicians. Ensure proper patient positioning, administer IV contrast safely, and perform quality control on equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform procedures as ordered and obtain images according to written protocols
- Position patients appropriately using immobilization and protective equipment as directed by the provider
- Organize and accurately perform the individual steps in established procedures in the proper sequence
- Review, manipulate, and evaluate images to deliver high quality diagnostic images, including required post processing at remote workstations
- Start-up and calibrate Computed Tomography system daily
- Review orders with Radiologist to determine proper protocol for each procedure
- Administer IV contrast with proper dosage and document according to department policy
- Perform and document quality control on equipment; recognize and take appropriate action for abnormal results and report equipment problems
- Ensure a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures
Requirements
- Graduate of a JCERT approved school of Radiologic Sciences Program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computer Tomography (CT) or eligible to take the registry and must become registered within 12 months of hire
- Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Qualifications
- Graduate of a JCERT approved school of Radiologic Sciences Program
- Entry level (0-1.99 years of relevant work experience) for CT Technologist I
Nice to Have
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) OR Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Sciences
