About This Role

Perform diagnostic CT procedures and rotating diagnostic radiology duties within the CT Department, utilizing specific equipment and ensuring radiation and general safety. This role involves patient interaction, equipment preparation, and maintaining quality imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT procedures within the CT Department utilizing specific equipment for that purpose
  • Rotate through diagnostic radiology as assigned
  • Practice radiation and general safety at all times
  • Prepare room, equipment, and materials for patient exams, including sterile technique
  • Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment following each patient exam using current infection control policies
  • Perform examinations per Physician's orders and explain procedures to patients
  • Document variations from protocol due to patient's condition or other unknown cause and relay patient history and clinical data to Radiologist
  • Observe patient and equipment, reporting any unusual occurrences or changes
  • Transport and assist patients as needed
  • Document patient status in reference to radiology/CT procedures on the patient's chart

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program
  • Radiography certification with ARRT or NMTCB within 6 months of hire
  • Current or temporary Radiography license as required by state board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program
  • No experience required for Level 1, up to one year preferred

Nice to Have

  • One year of experience as a computed tomography technologist

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire (Required) Radiography certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) within 6 months of hire (Required)
