Convenience Store Associate

About This Role

This role is responsible for processing financial transactions, assisting with stocking products, and maintaining a clean service area in a convenience store. The associate will work independently to ensure product display, stock, and contribute to the store's financial well-being while meeting customer service and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids, and coupons accurately
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store
• Perform front-end duties such as running the cash register, suggestive selling, enrolling guests in loyalty programs, and maintaining a clean and neat service area
• Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLU's and report errors in pricing or signage
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
• Communicate Company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers, achieving a customer oriented store
• Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and the sale of alcohol and tobacco products
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department and outside grounds, complying with Company safety and sanitation procedures
• Assist with stocking items on the sales floor, cooler, and back room
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
