About This Role

Lead and oversee all accounting operations for a dynamic professional services organization in Southwest Houston. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and serves as a trusted business partner to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, reporting, cash management, and close processes
• Oversee a multi-functional accounting team, including accounting management, AP, systems, and trust-related functions
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, cash flow reporting, and management reports (cash and accrual basis)
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights, ad hoc analysis, and decision support
• Manage and optimize accounting systems and workflows, including ERP ownership and expense management tools
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on quarterly estimates, partnership returns, and required filings
• Supervise monthly close and quarterly consolidation processes
• Oversee trust accounting and settlement-related financial activity
• Review, approve, and audit vendor and client payments
• Maintain strong banking relationships and manage day-to-day treasury activities
• Interpret and apply financial terms within contracts and agreements as needed

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in high-volume cash transaction industry
• 5+ years of people leadership experience
• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting systems
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite experience required)

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including high-volume or multi-entity environments, and 5+ years of people leadership experience.
