About This Role

This Control Engineer position will develop new processes, install equipment, and ensure continuous improvement for manufacturing Electric Vehicle products. The role focuses on setting up and verifying production equipment, including controls, fastening, and robot programming, to meet product and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new process, runoff and install equipment, and ensure continuous improvement during mass production of all equipment
  • Set-up and verify production equipment, specifically line controls, fastening programs, robot programming, laser/vision system programming and data applications
  • Ensure production equipment runs to specification and produces EV products based on product and customer requirements
  • Verify and qualify equipment for mass production utilization
  • Confirm that equipment is installed and meets required specifications
  • Confirm that equipment is maintained and working properly
  • Ensure that equipment is safe to utilize for all associates
  • Confirm all product requirements are met through online testing, including verification (daily and validation)
  • Assist other departments in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles and countermeasure activity as needed

Requirements

  • 4-year College Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or similar degree
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge/experience with troubleshooting production equipment
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics and computer programming
  • Experience in PLC programming on various platforms
  • Experience with vision systems
  • Experience with robot programming
  • Knowledge/experience with power electronics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes

Qualifications

  • 4-year College Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or similar degree
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience

Nice to Have

  • Work experience in automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors
  • Knowledge/experience with equipment runoff
  • Knowledge/experience with automotive power electronics
  • Fluency in Japanese language
