This is a senior-level Contract Materials & Testing Lead role focused on defining and launching a targeted materials and coatings test program for high-temperature turbine and heat-exchange hardware for an advanced clean-energy technology company.
Responsibilities
- Screen and down-select high-temperature materials and coatings for sCO₂ turbomachinery
- Define a focused test matrix (CO₂ exposure, short-term creep, limited LCF screening)
- Engage commercial test labs and coating vendors; develop scopes of work
- Interpret test results and convert findings into actionable design recommendations
- Support rapid material decisions in a prototype, limited-data environment
Requirements
- 10+ years in high-temperature materials engineering (gas turbines, power, or aerospace)
- Hands-on experience with creep, fatigue, oxidation, and corrosion testing
- Strong knowledge of nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys and TBC systems
