Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Manager

About This Role

This strategic leadership role oversees all aspects of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) laboratory management, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with industry standards. The manager will lead a high-performing team to ensure the integrity and safety of construction materials crucial for infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily laboratory operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant testing services
• Develop and implement technical procedures aligned with current industry standards and accreditation requirements
• Maintain laboratory certifications and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
• Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, maintenance, and procurement
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Conduct field visits to project sites, supporting testing operations in varied terrain and weather conditions

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in the construction industry
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a construction materials or geotechnical laboratory
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of alertness and operate safely in all conditions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Qualifications

• Associate degree in construction-related discipline (preferred)
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry with at least 5 years hands-on experience in a construction materials or geotechnical laboratory

• Associate degree in construction-related discipline
• Certifications such as ACI Grade I, NICET Level I/II, or applicable DOT certifications
