Construction Management Intern

About This Role

This internship provides hands-on experience in the electrical construction industry, working with a project manager to understand safety protocols, customer communication, and financial performance. It aims to prepare individuals for a career in the electrical construction field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the total construction and design effort to ensure projects align with design, budget, and schedule
• Coordinate communication between internal and external project members, including General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, and Foremen
• Support the Project Manager with staffing decisions, including choice of superintendent, general foremen, and foremen
• Aid in estimating projects and creating bid proposals
• Assist the Project Manager with purchase requisitions, payment approvals, and change order requests
• Help implement and interpret safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements
• Maintain all official project documentation and logs
• Provide directions to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or business-related field
• Strong desire to start a career in the electrical construction industry
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Qualifications

• Degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or business-related field

Nice to Have

• Prior construction experience
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Accubid, or other construction technology
