This internship provides hands-on experience in the electrical construction industry, working with a project manager to understand safety protocols, customer communication, and financial performance. It aims to prepare individuals for a career in the electrical construction field.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the total construction and design effort to ensure projects align with design, budget, and schedule
- Coordinate communication between internal and external project members, including General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, and Foremen
- Support the Project Manager with staffing decisions, including choice of superintendent, general foremen, and foremen
- Aid in estimating projects and creating bid proposals
- Assist the Project Manager with purchase requisitions, payment approvals, and change order requests
- Help implement and interpret safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements
- Maintain all official project documentation and logs
- Provide directions to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or business-related field
- Strong desire to start a career in the electrical construction industry
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Qualifications
- Degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or business-related field
Nice to Have
- Prior construction experience
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Accubid, or other construction technology
