Construction Internship

About This Role

Hoar Construction is looking for a Construction Intern for Summer 2026 to gain exposure to estimating, project management, and field operations. This role is for students studying civil engineering, construction engineering, or building/construction sciences.

Responsibilities

• Gain an understanding of the construction process
• Participate in quantity takeoff/quantity estimating
• Work with the submittal process, maintaining appropriate logs, reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals
• Prepare transmittals for distribution for project documentation
• Assist in jobsite setup, permitting, and closeout

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university
• Pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the spring semester
• Completed college freshman year

• Four year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science

Nice to Have

• Desire to pursue a career in the construction industry upon graduation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills including working with spreadsheets
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to handle responsibility
