Commissioning Engineer - Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)

About This Role

Serve as a Commissioning Engineer to ensure WAGABOX® units are installed, tested, and operating according to specifications. This role involves extensive travel and collaboration with international teams to deliver successful renewable natural gas projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for new US WAGABOX® units
• Ensure all unit systems and components are integrated seamlessly, meeting design specifications and operational standards
• Evaluate the performance of each process step, identify improvement areas, and ensure optimal unit operations
• Implement and manage leak testing and inerting processes, ensuring safety and gas quality
• Maintain a continuous focus on safety, ensuring all commissioning activities comply with regulations and industry standards
• Prioritize process optimization/improvement and suggest enhancements to R&D and design teams
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase for smooth plant startup
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of commissioning activities, test results, and performance metrics
• Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, and other team members for successful project delivery
• Provide training and support to plant operators on the operation and maintenance of commissioned systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in process, mechanical, or chemical engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on commissioning experience within the energy, infrastructure, or a related industry
• Technical skills in automation
• Technical skills in electricity
• Technical skills in process engineering (P&ID, PFD, Hazop, functional analysis)
• Technical skills in mechanical engineering (piping, pressure vessels)
• Knowledge of inerting processes and safety protocols
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and working in varied environmental conditions
• Comfortable working in industrial environments like gas processing, chemical plants, or energy facilities

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in process, mechanical, or chemical engineering
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on commissioning experience within the energy, infrastructure, or a related industry. Gas engineering experience is preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with RNG production processes, systems, and equipment
