This role involves significant travel to commission, test, and verify new conveyor automation systems throughout the U.S., offering junior engineers a pathway into automation control system design, panel design, and power distribution.
Responsibilities
- Debug various automation systems
- Perform system and I/O checkout
- Support controls and PLC checkout
- Test system performance
- Lead teams of commissioning engineers
- Verify and validate engineered systems to meet design and customer specifications
- Interface with clients and subcontractors to satisfactorily resolve problems and issues
- Design pre-punched enclosures and subpanels utilizing AutoCAD
- Create and update project “workbook” and pre-check electrical drawings for accuracy/completeness and UL requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in automation, control system design, I/O Checkout
- Knowledgeable of electrical and controls engineering theories and principles
- Significant electrical aptitude and knowledge of acceptable practices, techniques, and codes
- Skills in AutoCAD, MS Office suite and MS Project
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems for industrial applications
- Skilled with AutoCAD and design of electrical panels, creating electrical drawings and schematics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in commissioning related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in automation, control system design, I/O Checkout
Nice to Have
- VFD experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Schneider
- PLC experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix & CompactLogix), Modicon and Siemens (S7)
- HMI experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Ignition and WinCC
