This role involves soliciting, negotiating, underwriting, and closing various types of commercial loans while developing business checking and deposit relationships. The Commercial Loan Officer II will also promote the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and actively participating in sales management and officer call programs.
Responsibilities
- Engage in business development activities and solicitation of new business
- Interview prospective applicants and request specified loan application information
- Perform pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests
- Gather and analyze information to present financing requests to Senior Management or Loan Committee
- Coordinate processing of approved loans, ensuring compliance with Bank policies and customer needs
- Negotiate, underwrite, and process renewals of credit facilities
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, and competition
- Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions
- Manage past due and maturing loan reports and provide deposit and loan account ratings
- Cross-sell the Bank’s other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 6-10 years of financial analyzing or lending experience
- Registered with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (SAFE Act)
- Intermediate experience, knowledge, and training in financial statement and tax return analysis
- Intermediate experience, knowledge, and training in all lending activities and terminology
- Intermediate knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan processing
- Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations
- Ability to develop marketing and business development skills
- Current driver’s license and vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a college or university; related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6-10 years of work-related experience in financial analyzing or lending background.
