About This Role

The Clinical Scientist provides scientific oversight and clinical guidance for projects within the Clinical Surveillance & Training department, ensuring scientific integrity and data quality in clinical trials. This role involves developing and delivering services like eligibility review, endpoint review, and rater training, focusing on advancing evidence-based science.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to draft protocol review and scale selection, offering clinical expertise and partnering with customers on design
  • Participate in the development of eligibility review, endpoint review, rater qualification, training, and certification plans
  • Contribute to scales management and translations deliverables
  • Review case report forms and electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) pages for consistency and provide feedback
  • Work with vendors and Company staff involved in training regarding clinical scales, diagnostic instruments, or eCOA technology
  • Provide internal Syneos Health and site staff training on therapeutic indications, scale administration, and scoring
  • Perform clinical and statistical analysis of rating scale and/or endpoint data
  • Collaborate with Investigators and their staff to ensure understanding of protocol specifics, entry criteria, diagnostic and clinical scales
  • Review screening data and lead case reviews to determine subject appropriateness for trial entry in collaboration with Medical Directors
  • Provide professional, collaborative, and scientific feedback to investigators
  • Continuously improve clinical and scientific expertise through research and publication, maintaining familiarity with relevant literature
  • Provide scientific and clinical expertise to Sponsors, study teams, and the Company, possibly serving as indication subject matter expert
  • Support business development by providing scientific proposal text, protocol considerations, and/or slides, and participate in bid defense meetings
  • Mentor and train other Clinical Surveillance & Training employees
