This Clinical Nurse II role focuses on assessing, planning, directing, implementing, and managing the care needs of assigned medical cardiology patients. The nurse is responsible for coordinating the care provided by the team and ensuring compassionate patient care during their hospitalization.
Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, documenting as required.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Qualifications
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance
