Clinical Dietitian Nutrition II

About This Role

Provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients of all ages, including critical care, by assessing needs, developing care plans, and educating patients and families. You will be responsible for modifying diet orders and making recommendations for enteral feeding and nutrition supplements.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutrition care to assigned patients by assessing nutritional needs, developing, implementing, and re-evaluating nutritional care plans
• Modify diet orders and make recommendations for enteral feeding modifications and nutrition supplements
• Cover all patient care units including critical care (ICU and PICU)
• Perform initial nutrition screening of patients and determine patient nutrition risk level classification
• Complete comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients at high or moderate nutrition risk within twenty-four to forty-eight hours of admission
• Calculate patient nutrition requirements using standardized formulas
• Monitor changes in patient's nutrition status and evaluate ongoing appropriateness of diet prescription
• Arrange for enteral feeding for outpatient/home care services as needed, prior to patient discharge
• Refer patients to other services such as GI Nutrition Services, Social Services, Speech Therapy, and Integrative medicine as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition & Dietetics or Master's Degree
• Certified Dietitian Nutritionist within 12 months of employment (New York only)
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Commission on Dietetic Registration)
• 2-4 years of experience
• Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition & Dietetics or Master's Degree
• Two (2) - four (4) years of experience
