The Clinic Receptionist is responsible for performing various administrative duties related to patient intake and general clinic tasks, ensuring an efficient and compliant admitting process.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient check-in and complete necessary paperwork
- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
- Schedule appointments following office guidelines
- Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, collect co-pays and deductible amounts
- Copy and scan patient documents into the electronic medical record
- Prepare patient charts for appointments
- Manage patient check-out duties, including pricing services, collecting payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Assist with filing and retrieving registration documentation in electronic medical records
- Confirm next-day appointments, providing documentation details and time-of-service payment information
- Follow up on missed appointments and send related communications
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to read and interpret business documents and professional materials
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and manuals
- Capability of presenting information and responding to inquiries
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and calculate rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, database management, spreadsheets, and graphic presentation software
