Clinic LPN Urgent Care

About This Role

This LPN position is responsible for providing direct patient care in an urgent care setting, including assessment, procedures, and accurate documentation, while adhering to current payor regulations.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Demonstrate current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize other health care team members.
• Assess learning needs of the patient and significant others and give accurate information.
• Follow clinic procedure/protocol for organization and management of the electronic medical record.
• Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.
• Assist with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered.
• Accurately and legibly document all patient interactions in electronic medical record.
• Report results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.
• Perform basic nursing functions (vitals, rooming, assist with procedures, immunizations, medication injections) under direction and supervision of provider.
• Maintain professional appearance of patient exam and procedure rooms.

Requirements

• Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire

Qualifications

• Clinic/physician office experience preferred
