This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant who will support healthcare providers by managing patient flow, documenting medical records, preparing prescriptions, and assisting with clinical procedures in a pain management setting. The individual will contribute to efficient clinic operations and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient schedules, collect patients from the waiting room, and escort them to clinic rooms
- Document and maintain appropriate workflow in patient’s electronic medical records
- Merge patient charts, take vitals, verify medication, and triage patients for providers
- Follow procedures for collecting, preparing, documenting, and shipping urine specimens
- Prepare prescriptions for provider signatures and complete patient charts by end of day
- Initiate and complete procedure prior authorizations within 72 hours and notify patients
- Clean and sanitize clinic rooms as required at the end of the day
- Restock clinic rooms with appropriate items
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months experience in a medical office
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR AED) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 6 months experience in a medical office
