Clinic Extender – MA, EMT

About This Role

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant who will support healthcare providers by managing patient flow, documenting medical records, preparing prescriptions, and assisting with clinical procedures in a pain management setting. The individual will contribute to efficient clinic operations and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient schedules, collect patients from the waiting room, and escort them to clinic rooms
• Document and maintain appropriate workflow in patient’s electronic medical records
• Merge patient charts, take vitals, verify medication, and triage patients for providers
• Follow procedures for collecting, preparing, documenting, and shipping urine specimens
• Prepare prescriptions for provider signatures and complete patient charts by end of day
• Initiate and complete procedure prior authorizations within 72 hours and notify patients
• Clean and sanitize clinic rooms as required at the end of the day
• Restock clinic rooms with appropriate items

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 6 months experience in a medical office
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR AED) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 6 months experience in a medical office
