About This Role

As a Class A CDL Driver for UNFI, you will deliver palletized products to retail stores, perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and ensure safe and efficient product handling.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and unload products utilizing equipment such as tractor trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, and load bars
  • Operate vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines, minimizing accidents and traffic violations
  • Report any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department
  • Keep vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure, reporting defects using DCVR form
  • Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork
  • Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate
  • Ensure customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order
  • Perform pre and post trip inspection of vehicle

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a road test
  • Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving functions
  • Good judgment is required

Qualifications

  • Prefer minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer
