About This Role

Investigate, determine liability, confirm coverage, establish damages, and negotiate settlement of claims, potentially involving complex cases and requiring specialized experience. This role involves direct interaction with policyholders, claimants, and various external parties.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, confirm coverage, determine liability, and establish damages for assigned cases
• Negotiate settlement of assigned claims within prescribed limits, including more difficult files requiring specialized experience
• Adjust all types of claims
• Inspect damaged property and vehicles, and determine claims related damage
• Estimate the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or stolen property and vehicles
• Determine and report on subrogation potential
• Initiate the sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, and miscellaneous salvage items
• Report theft, fraud, and arson losses as required to state and industry agencies
• Maintain an active adjusters license in states where required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of the Special Claims Representative Certification process (or within 90 days of hire for external candidates)
• Minimum 2+ years of writing Auto Damage estimates (for external candidates)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred, or an automotive related Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited technical college.
• 2+ years of writing Auto Damage estimates, with successful completion of Special Claims Representative Certification process.
