C&I Origination Manager

About This Role

This role involves originating and closing C&I subscription agreements for community solar projects across key U.S. markets, with an initial focus on New York and Illinois. The position will build direct customer relationships and develop channel partnerships to support the growth of the commercial offtake business.

Responsibilities

• Originate and close C&I subscription agreements for community solar projects
• Develop and manage direct customer relationships, as well as broker and channel partnerships
• Respond to RFPs and RFQs from corporate, municipal, nonprofit, and institutional customers
• Collaborate with finance and project teams to align offtake with financing requirements
• Support compliance and reporting requirements prior to project COD
• Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and handoff post-close
• Help identify high-value customer segments and replicate successful origination strategies across markets

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, origination, or account management
• Strong contract negotiation and contract management experience
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and relationships simultaneously
• Experience responding to RFPs/RFQs
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Solid Excel and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, origination, or account management

Nice to Have

• Experience in renewable energy, community solar, or energy services
• Existing C&I relationships in New York or Illinois
