Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams, diagnose psychiatric disorders, prescribe medication, and provide psychotherapy for child and adolescent patients. Advocate for patients' best treatment options and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams, diagnosing illnesses and prescribing and administering treatment for psychiatric disorders
- Meet regularly with patients, prescribe psychotropic medications, and provide psychotherapies
- Determine appropriate level of care and advocate for patients' best treatment options within healthcare systems
- Obtain medical histories, and order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
- Practice evidence-based, high-quality psychiatric medicine and encourage patient understanding and involvement in care
- Complete required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner, maintaining complete and accurate charts and records
- Collaborate on care delivery, including staff, other physicians, and management, fostering respect and ethical conduct
- Establish and maintain contact with referring providers, family members, and patient's support persons when appropriate
- Provide leadership to improve outcomes, quality, and program quality, ensuring compliance with legal and educational requirements
- Achieve quality metrics by focusing on clinically relevant outcome measures and adapting company innovations
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Graduation from an accredited Medical School
- Completed Accredited Residency Program and fellowships for specialists or equivalent training
- Physician Board Certified in General Psychiatry and/ or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state(s) seeing patients
- BLS/ CPR certifications, Licensures and Registrations
- Knowledge of regulatory body requirements (Joint Commissions, etc.)
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Program and fellowships for specialists or equivalent training
