Charge Nurse - LPN

About This Role

Supervise day-to-day nursing activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at an Ohio Living facility, ensuring quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and participation in interdisciplinary care planning.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day functions of nursing activities and make work assignments to Nursing Assistants
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
• Represent the nursing department during Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings
• Provide direct nursing care as needed
• Consult with residents’ physicians in planning resident care, treatment, and rehabilitation
• Notify residents’ physicians and families of changes in resident’s condition
• Authorize and monitor the use of restraints when necessary
• Admit, transfer, and discharge patients as necessary
• Ensure nursing procedures are followed by nursing service personnel
• Supervise CNAs and foster a positive work environment

Requirements

• Current unencumbered license for the state of Ohio to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered license for the state of Ohio to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• One year of clinical experience in a hospital, long term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred; supervisory experience preferred

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
