Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

About This Role

This role involves providing quality patient care and treatment programs as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, working hands-on with patients, and collaborating with staff to ensure seamless care.

Responsibilities

• Assure the quality of patient care and treatment programs by providing hands-on assessment, treatment, and direction to subordinate staff on matters of treatment
• Assist patients in preparing for therapy and return trips, including dressing, undressing, and managing supportive equipment
• Implement patient plan of care and goals using appropriate COTA skills
• Actively listen to patient and family concerns when modifying treatment plans
• Provide patient care during scheduled hours as assigned by a supervisor
• Educate and motivate patients and families to learn and improve functional activities
• Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner
• Clean and prepare equipment for therapy sessions
• Measure and track range of motion and record data progress during therapy sessions
• Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans

Requirements

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Kansas
