Assist in delivering individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by an Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving daily living skills in patients within a skilled nursing setting. This role involves patient care, progress monitoring, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Implement activities to improve daily living skills (e.g., dressing, eating, mobility)
- Track and document patient progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with facility policies
- Report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist
- Work with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., PT, OT, nursing) to provide holistic care
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence
- Lead or assist patients with exercises, activities of daily living, and other therapeutic tasks
- Create a positive and supportive environment to encourage patient engagement
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through NBCOT
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school
- Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting is preferred, new graduates are also encouraged to apply

- Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting (hospital, clinic, school, etc.)
