Catering Manager

About This Role

This role involves overseeing all aspects of catering operations at North Carolina A&T State University, ensuring seamless service delivery for a variety of events and leading frontline teams. The Catering Manager 2 will manage logistics, budgets, and compliance with safety programs, supporting the university's expanding foodservice program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage catering services for events including conferences, receptions, academic functions, and student activities
• Oversee catering bookings, schedules, and timelines
• Ensure seamless delivery of services aligning with event specifications
• Oversee logistical planning including transportation, supply ordering, and coordination of rental equipment and setup
• Lead frontline teams, mentoring them in accurate cash handling, operations, open and closing processes
• Train and manage department HACCP Safety Programs, Sodexo programs, and daily operation standards

Requirements

• Proven experience leading catering or event operations with a focus on exceptional service
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines
• Collaborative mindset for working closely with culinary teams on diverse, creative menus
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Budget management and cost-control experience
• Flexible, solutions-driven approach with a passion for continuous improvement
• Proficiency with event planning tools and Microsoft Office
• Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proven experience leading catering or event operations
