Cashier/Sales Associate

About This Role

Serve as an overnight Cashier/Sales Associate, independently managing store operations, assisting customers, and maintaining cleanliness and security during the third shift, typically between 10 PM and 6 AM.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and accurately operate the register
• Become proficient in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales, ensuring compliance with age verification and legal requirements
• Offer friendly service and upsell customers when possible to increase sales
• Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and picking up litter
• Take out trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full
• Maintain a clean and organized store by sweeping, mopping, and cleaning windows and entryways
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older (21 years in some states) to handle age-restricted sales
• Ability to work overnight shifts (typically 10 PM - 6 AM), weekends, and holidays
• Comfortable working independently for extended periods
• Ability to stay alert, make sound decisions, and manage responsibilities without direct supervision
• Capable of frequently lifting 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
• Willingness to work hard and stay on feet for most of the shift
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check

Qualifications

• Entry-level position, previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus but not required.
