About This Role

This role involves assessing and investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect, delivering supportive casework services to children and families, and developing and implementing service plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide casework services to families and children
  • Assess risk and safety of children at regular intervals as per DPW regulations
  • Investigate allegations of Child/Abuse and Neglect
  • Develop and implement service plans with clients based on strengths and concerns
  • Make referrals to community resources and work collaboratively with providers
  • Participate in planning for coordination of services
  • Prepare court documents, attend court hearings and testify to the facts of the case
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the record, including all contacts and electronic files
  • Serve as an advocate for children and parents
  • Utilize critical thinking and conflict resolution skills to handle crisis situations in the field

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major OR bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major; or a bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other related social sciences.
