Capacity and Performance Management (CPM) Expert

About This Role

Serve as a Capacity and Performance Management (CPM) expert for customer solutions, focusing on mainframe architecture and application environment support. Analyze SMF data, develop SAS and MXG applications on Linux, and communicate technical findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Thruput Manager software architecture and batch routing techniques for customer solutions
• Gather, process, and analyze SMF data for performance and capacity support
• Work with MXG and SAS PDB processing
• Perform SAS programming on open system platforms
• Manage applications running on Linux, preferably SAS/MXG applications
• Develop and manage SAS and MXG on Linux
• Utilize performance and tuning tools such as RMF, Omegamon, TEPS, and Intellimagic
• Administer and understand WLM policy architecture
• Provide system programming background for mainframe architecture capacity and performance support
• Conduct statistical analysis using SMF data
• Create visual communications to highlight key analysis findings and solutions
• Communicate solutions and recommendations to stakeholders and senior IT managers
• Translate business goals into resource usage criteria based on management guidelines
• Communicate and negotiate with customers to ensure business functions and criteria are met

Requirements

• Expertise with Thruput Manager software architecture and batch routing techniques
• Expertise with gathering, processing, and analyzing SMF data for performance and capacity support
• Expertise with MXG and SAS PDB processing
• Expertise with SAS programming skills on open system platforms
• Expertise managing applications running on Linux (preferably SAS/MXG applications)
• Expertise with Linux BASH scripting
• Expertise managing/developing SAS and MXG on Linux
• Expertise with tools related to performance and tuning such as: RMF, Omegamon, TEPS, and Intellimagic
• Expertise with WLM policy architecture and administration
• System programming background with understanding of mainframe architecture and application environment capacity and performance support
• Clear understanding of statistical analysis using SMF data
• Expertise around visual communications for technical analysis
• Ability to translate business goals into resource usage criteria
