About This Role

Direct, train, and coordinate area personnel for manufacturing world-class quality products, utilizing continuous improvement methods, and ensuring production schedules are met. This role drives lean philosophies and manages the business unit's P&L.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, trains, and coordinates area personnel in the most effective and efficient procedures for problem solving and task completion to manufacture a world class quality product
  • Uses continual improvement methods to insure most efficient layout of cell through easy moving/standing operations and optimization of cell procedures and product flow
  • Investigates and reviews all quality information from various sources; coordinates and disseminates this information to appropriate personnel, through documentation and visual controls, to achieve scrap reduction and variance elimination
  • Spreads “Lean Philosophies” including one-piece/heat flow, setting, and monitoring Standard Work in Process, dedicating labor and equipment, production smoothing and 5s principles
  • Ensures that production schedules can be met through effective planning of manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Coordinates with functional areas such as Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and all suppliers and customers to resolve problems to effectively meet goals
  • Promotes and maintains good morale within area by keeping employees informed and by listening and acting on their concerns
  • Maintains overall area programs for safety, compliance with OSHA regulations, hazardous material regulatory compliance, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance
  • Leads, participates in, and promotes GROWTTH Activities
  • P&L responsibility for business unit

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in manufacturing environment rubber operations (rubber molding preferred) or 10 years experience in rubber molding manufacturing in manager/Supervisor role
  • Experience in Compression or Injection Molding
  • Experience in ISO TS 16949 systems
  • Experience in an ERP system
  • Experience in working with FKM, VMQ, FVMQ, EPDM, HNBR and NBR and materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience in rubber operations (rubber molding preferred) or 10 years in rubber molding manufacturing in a manager/supervisor role.

  • SAP knowledge
  • Previous experience in working in an international company
