Bakery Team Member (Service Counter)

About This Role

As a Bakery Team Member, you will support the Bakery department by preparing and receiving products, maintaining displays, and providing excellent customer service in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked
• Stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas
• Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicating waste to leadership
• Maintain back stock in good order
• Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing
• Assist with periodic inventory checks
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner
• Maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, including equipment
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required
