Bakery Team Member (Service Counter)

About This Role

As a Bakery Team Member, you will support the Bakery department by preparing and stocking products, ensuring appealing displays, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked
• Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to relevant team members
• Maintain back stock in good order
• Assist with sampling programs, keeping areas full, clean, and appealing
• Assist with periodic inventory checks
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs timely and effectively
• Maximize sales potential through effective prepping, storing, stocking, and merchandising
• Follow and comply with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and equipment
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours
• Ability to use single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling motions with hands
• Ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to identify product quality and freshness
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
• Ability to deliver information clearly to Team Members, customers, and vendors
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
