Automotive Painter

About This Role

The Automotive Painter is responsible for performing body repairs, primer application, plastic and substrate repairs, and post-paint refinishing on CarMax vehicles. This role ensures all vehicles meet CarMax Paint Standards and involves maintaining, repairing, and cleaning specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform body repairs, including masking, sanding, and grinding
• Apply primer to vehicles
• Remove and replace parts as needed
• Execute plastic and substrate repairs
• Perform post-paint refinishing and defect corrections
• Ensure vehicles adhere to CarMax Paint Standards
• Maintain, repair, and clean specialized equipment
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization according to CarMax 5S standards
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Complete duties as assigned by Managers

Requirements

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data
• Ability to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs
• Ability to speak and listen effectively with customers/associates
• Ability to complete CarMax provided training in all functional areas of the inventory process

Qualifications

• Entry level position, requiring completion of CarMax provided training.
