Assumptions Mortgage Loan Consultant

About This Role

The Mortgage Loan Consultant will gain necessary licensure to originate assumption mortgage loans and educate customers on the assumption process. This role involves taking applications, communicating expectations, and monitoring loans from application through closing.

Responsibilities

• Complete education program and obtain SAFE and State licensure as required
• Counsel customers regarding the assumption loan program
• Pre-qualify potential borrowers based on income, debt, employment history, and other credit data
• Determine customers' eligibility
• Assist in gathering customer authorizations and supporting documentation as required by regulation and/or program guidelines
• Originate applications and monitor the loan from application through closing process, maintaining effective communications with customers, referral sources, and loan support staff

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain SAFE and State licensure
• Strong organization skills
• Attention to detail
• Working knowledge of conventional and government loan programs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Ability to keep up to date on regulation changes

Qualifications

• Associate's degree

Nice to Have

• 2+ years Mortgage industry experience
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
