Associate Member Services Representative

About This Role

This entry-level Associate Member Services Representative position provides foundational knowledge of SECU branch operations. The role focuses on delivering exemplary member service by handling inquiries, processing transactions, and managing accounts.

Responsibilities

• Attend New Employee Training (Excel and Elevate)
• Complete 10 Core Modules and additional required modules for advancement
• Comply with all Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements
• Ensure confidentiality of member information and access accounts for business purposes only
• Follow all security and control procedures
• Process member transactions and balance a cash drawer
• Adhere to SECU Check Acceptance Guidelines and Hold procedures
• Serve members courteously in-person, by phone, and via digital communication
• Operate a drive-through window as needed
• Balance the vault, ATMs, and other cash-handling equipment
• Help verify and prepare cash delivery and shipments
• Organize, file, and scan documents daily
• Process foreign and domestic wire transfers
• Help order and return foreign currency
• Troubleshoot problems with member accounts, cards, and online access
• Begin learning to open basic accounts for existing members under supervision

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Aptitude for meeting people and developing member confidence, respect, and trust
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete the Credit Union’s Core Module Program within 12 months of hire

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Entry-level position; completion of Core Module Program within 12 months of hire

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree
• CCUE Certification
• Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree via the North Carolina Community College Transfer Program (NC-CTP)
