Associate Attorney

About This Role

Join a Creditor's Right law firm with 1-3 years of experience to manage a litigation caseload, negotiate settlements, and draft legal documentation from suit initiation through judgment.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review Summons and Complaints, Judgments, Settlement Agreements, Discovery and other related documentation
• Draft, review, and file necessary litigation motions and responses
• Communicate with consumers, their employers, and their attorneys to resolve accounts/suits
• Review and appropriately request court coverage for all court calls where an Associate will not appear
• Review all new and ongoing legal pleadings and documents to ensure accuracy for filing with respective courts
• Maintain own workload and current case files
• Negotiate with defendants and attorneys via phone, e-mail, and regular mail to settle contested cases
• Participate in the discovery process where applicable

Requirements

• 1-3 years experience
• Licensed in the State of New York to practice law
• Multi-tasking skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
