About This Role

Assist in directing and coordinating interscholastic athletics at Washington High School, focusing on Long Jump and Triple Jump, to help student-athletes develop life skills and foster excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics in their school
Work in conjunction with Head Coach in determining athlete participation during practices and games
Positively promote the athletic program within the schools and community
Operate within the policies of the conference and the SDHSAA
Maintain a staff relationship with other coaches
Assist with fund-raising activities as needed

Requirements

Physical dexterity
Ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit
Ability to travel between locations

Qualifications

BA/BS Education Preferred
Coaching and teaching experience desired. High school/college participation preferred.

Nice to Have

Coaching and teaching experience
High school/college participation in track & field
Teaching assignment in building preferred

Certifications

Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (Required) Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (Required) Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (Required)
