Assistant Category Manager

About This Role

This role involves completing a merchandising training program to understand key functions like Category Management and Digital Merchandising. You will then support a Director of Category Management by executing fundamental tasks and contributing to business initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities

• Complete Merchandising training program to understand roles and responsibilities of Category Management, Merchandise Operations, Digital Merchandising and Private Brands
• Report full time into a Director of Category Management upon completion of training program
• Learn, execute and build proficiency in fundamental tasks and workflow for Category Management (sku set-up, vendor communication and follow-up, coordinating NPI’s and marketing promotions, price reviews and sku matching)
• Support Manager with overall business initiatives and tasks to achieve budgeted goals and initiatives
• Maintain strong, effective relationships with Category Managers, cross-functional teams and Vendors
• Effectively work with cross-functional teams to execute business initiates through strong partnership and communication
• Analyze data to understand business trends, opportunities, and issues
• Work closely with Cross-Functional team to execute current business tactics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Business Applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Data analytics skills
