Asset Protection Associate

About This Role

The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and associates by preventing theft and fraud and responding to emergencies. This role involves surveillance, communication with law enforcement, and assisting with store safety and operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
• Maintain professional relationships with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats
• Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
• Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards
• Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews
• Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
• Respond to emergencies including shoplifting, medical incidents, and inclement weather
• Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks
• Assist customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to work assigned schedules including varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2-3 years prior Loss prevention experience preferred

Nice to Have

• College graduate
• Prior Loss prevention experience (2-3 years)
