Art Teacher

About This Role

Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop their academic potential in art.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement appropriate instruction of content area(s) assigned in with the school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual student needs
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Conduct tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system while developing students’ character
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by policy

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
