Manage and optimize the Application Engineering Team to provide top-tier technical and commercial support for customers and channel partners. Lead efforts in project quoting, design optimization, and technical guidance for rotating equipment in process industries.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the Application Engineering Department and direct reports
- Manage workload within the AE department to ensure accurate and timely project quoting with optimum design
- Set priorities for Application Engineers and ensure prompt addressing of customer requests
- Set goals for Application Engineers to advance proficiency and foster personal and professional growth
- Handle large or complex projects as needed
- Participate in strategy and operational development to grow the company's business
- Advocate for the customer internally to ensure customer and representative satisfaction
- Hire and train new Application Engineers
- Assure designs are optimized for performance and cost, and provide cost estimates to sales
- Provide guidance on special and custom designs, coordinating with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing for project execution
- Assist Director of Sales in order forecasting using CRM and sales tools
- Assist with marketing projects including price rationalization, sales tool updates, and literature generation
- Present technical trainings and presentations to representatives and customers
- Attend customer meetings to provide technical support
Requirements
- Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in technical inside sales
- 5+ years’ experience in rotating equipment selection for process industries
- 5+ years’ experience in sales or similar commercial role with an Engineering Degree (or 10+ years without degree)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
