Application Developer

About This Role

Maintain and support the integrity of application systems by designing, building, testing, and performing maintenance to ensure efficient performance. The role contributes to complex system protection deployments in electrical transmission and distribution substations and circuits.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain systems applications and services
• Perform software updates, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and patches
• Monitor site health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control within applications like SharePoint
• Create and manage user groups and roles, ensuring security best practices
• Customize applications and pages, developing and deploying custom web parts, workflows, and solutions
• Integrate applications with other systems and plan/execute data migrations
• Regularly back up application data and configurations, developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans
• Provide training and user support to help employees effectively use new applications
• Enforce governance policies and compliance standards within applications

Requirements

• 5+ years of applications systems development experience
• 3+ years of relevant or related industry experience
• Experience working in a regulated utility/energy, DOE, DOD, or equivalent environment
• Proficient in principles and practices of project document control management
• Knowledge in design, administration, and maintenance of Microsoft Office 365 and associated products (Azure, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Forms, Teams, Power BI, OneDrive)
• Technical knowledge of system backup/recovery, administration, operations, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting
• Technical knowledge of licensing management, problem analysis, technical support, upgrades management
• Technical knowledge of IT backup software, IT network software, network security software, operating systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in project or business management, information technology, or another field acceptable with customer approval
• A minimum of 5 years of applications systems development experience, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant or related industry experience.
