The Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager coordinates and reviews all activities of histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories to ensure quality testing and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role oversees the Pathology Office Manager, Pathology Supervisor, and Chief Cytotechnologist.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review all activities of histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories to achieve maximum quality of testing.
- Ensure compliance with all requirements by regulatory agencies.
- Oversee the Pathology Office Manager, Pathology Supervisor, and Chief Cytotechnologist.
- Assure the delivery of quality department/clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards.
- Assure employee compliance with hospital and Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Assure that employee competency and education requirements are satisfied as per hospital policy.
- Direct and supervise tests performed by scientists, cytotechnologists, Pathology Supervisor, Chief Cytotechnologist(s), Histo-technicians, and Laboratory Assistants.
- Oversee and assist with the Quality Control Program and prepare monthly Quality Control reports for section meetings.
- Develop, submit departmental goals, objectives, and budgets for operations and capital equipment.
- Interview, hire, evaluate, and counsel employees as per hospital policy.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Clinical Technology or related science
- Six years of relevant hospital experience
- Current NYS License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant
